Eureka Springs, AR:
Nestled in the enchanting Ozark Mountains of Northwest Arkansas lies Eureka Springs, a charming Victorian town where history, art, and natural beauty converge. While the narrow, winding roads can challenge larger RVs, we successfully navigated our 44-foot Class A to the nearby KOA campground – definitely the most accommodating option for bigger rigs in the area.

Step Back in Time
Dating back to the 1800s, Eureka Springs' Historic District showcases stunning Victorian architecture, with the Palace Bath House, Basin Park Hotel, and the iconic Crescent Hotel standing as testaments to the town's spring-centered heritage. Pro tip: Start your visit with the local tram tour – it's both entertaining and informative, offering the perfect introduction to this historic haven.
Walking the cobblestone streets (be prepared for those hillside climbs!), you'll discover a treasure trove of unique boutiques and artisan shops. The crown jewel of our visit was the Crescent Hotel tour, where history seeps from every stone. Walking through its halls, you can almost transport yourself back to the elegant 1880s, when the hotel first opened its doors.
Wildlife and Wonder
Our second day brought two unforgettable experiences. First, we visited the Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge, a sanctuary for abused and neglected big cats. Having visited several similar facilities, we were genuinely impressed by their exceptional commitment to animal welfare and humane care practices.
A Sacred Space in Nature
Our journey concluded at the architectural marvel that is Thorncrown Chapel. Perched atop a rocky mountain and surrounded by forest, this glass sanctuary features over 400 windows that create a mesmerizing interplay of light and nature. We were fortunate to experience 15 minutes of solitude in this serene space before other visitors arrived – a truly spiritual moment that left us feeling renewed and uplifted.
