America’s and Canada’s national parks are some of the most incredible places we have ever explored by RV — from dramatic mountain ranges and turquoise lakes to wildlife-filled valleys, deserts, canyons, forests, and remote wilderness. In this section, we share our experiences traveling through the parks at a slower pace, including scenic drives, hikes, campgrounds, photography spots, wildlife encounters, and practical tips for visiting with a large RV. A quiet dusk hike near the Many Glacier entrance in Glacier National Park started out perfectly—waterfalls, a snowshoe rabbit, a “stalker deer,” and even a bull moose by the lake. Then I got separated from Manny (and the bear spray) and came face-to-face with a huge brown bear on the trail just yards away. What happened next was a long, tense wait in the dark—and a reminder that “easy hikes” can change fast.
