Why This Course Ranks #2 in Newfoundland

Twin Rivers Golf Course is part of the Terra Nova Resort and Golf community, and after playing here, it's crystal clear why it holds the #2 ranking in Newfoundland. This isn't just another golf course – it's a truly special experience.

A Course Like No Other

What sets Twin Rivers apart is its stunning setting on the ocean waters of the harbor, with two salmon rivers crisscrossing throughout the entire course. These waterways don't just add visual appeal – they create both difficulty and breathtaking views that make every hole memorable.

The signature hole #18 is a perfect example: this par 3 requires you to clear both river and waterfall to reach the green. It's the kind of shot that stays with you long after you've finished your round.

Course Conditions & Layout

The greens are often elevated but generously sized, giving you a fair chance to stick your approach shots. The fairways are wide open, which sounds forgiving until you realize they're often sloping and lined with trees that fall off sharply. Keep your ball in the fairway if you want to keep your ball – period.

Fair warning about the sand bunkers: they're deep with high sides that will test both your skill and your patience. Consider them a true test of your short game.

When we played, the course was in excellent condition. The fairway grass was dense and consistent, and the greens were rolling well despite all the recent rain Newfoundland had been experiencing.

Wildlife & Natural Beauty

While we didn't spot any wildlife during our rounds, the salmon may have been running the rivers – there were plenty of people fishing along the waterways. The natural setting adds an extra layer of beauty to an already gorgeous course.

Our Verdict: Worth Playing Twice

Here's the ultimate testament to how much we loved Twin Rivers: we played it again just two days later! When a course is good enough to make you want to come back immediately, you know you've found something special.

Twin Rivers Golf Course delivers everything you want in a destination golf experience – challenging play, stunning scenery, and that perfect blend of difficulty and fairness that keeps you coming back for more.
