The Viking RV Park

Location:
At the most northern end of Newfoundland, about as far as you can drive
Cost: $40 (CAD) per night for serviced site (Electric & Water)
Reservations:
Email is best
Management:
Gracie and her husband own and run the park
Food:
Gracie offers a home-cooked breakfast in the morning – standard fare with eggs, meat, potatoes, and toast. In the afternoon, she serves moose burgers and fries.
Sites:
Electric and water hookups available. There's a sewer pump-out station on the way out.
Views:
The immediate view is a bit boring, but there's a large pond you can walk down to that's prettier once you get there. However, with so much spectacular water everywhere in Newfoundland, we'd never bother sitting down at this pond.
Location & Access:
Good access for big rigs, but the roads were in rough shape here and there – doable if you slow down for potholes.
Area:
Only a couple of miles from hiking trails, L'Anse aux Meadows, and Norstead Village. Approximately 30 minutes to St. Anthony and Goose Cove.

Wildlife:
We spotted moose at two different locations on the roads leading to and from the campground area. Keep your eyes peeled and drive slowly – these magnificent creatures can appear suddenly on the roadways!
Cat's Review:

Apparently my "people" have let the rain happen again! Then to top it off – the weather was nice for at least 20 minutes before they opened the door to our tunnels.
We liked the quiet, but it was a bit sparse…no trees or bushes or grass…can you put some there next time?
Our Verdict:
Excellent stop to explore the "ends of Newfoundland's western peninsula." Big rig friendly, lots of local character, and close to Viking history and hiking trails. Three nights was perfect for us.
We would definitely stay here again
