The KOA Gros Morne

Cost:

$60 CAD for a full-service site with patio

Location:

Perfect base for exploring everything Gros Morne National Park has to offer

Reservations:

Easy booking at WWW.KOA.com

Tip: We love how flexible their cancellation policy is—great for RV travelers dealing with weather or route changes

Big Rig Friendly:

This is hands down the best choice for big rigs in the Gros Morne area

Location & Access:

Excellent access right from Highway 430, making it convenient for large RVs

Site Options:

- Big Rig Sites:

We chose a large site with patio in the front section. Sites are closer together but manageable, with a nice row of trees and greenery providing some privacy behind us

- Standard Sites: Most spaces are located in the back lot and are very close together

- Hidden Gems: If you're under 40 feet and can manage without sewer hookups (they offer pump-out service), there are some fantastic private sites throughout the park with traditional campground privacy and lots of trees

Management:

Great managers who are flexible with early check-in—always appreciated after long travel days or when you are tryig to get in as early as possible in order to not lose the entire day as a "trael day".

Cat's Corner:

"Love that my people finally incorporated our tunnel into nature! They included our lower tent into the 'woods' behind the RV so we could go all the way out to the woods for our own hike. We have mixed feelings about the concrete pad in the first part of the run—it kept our paws cleaner than the mud we could see behind the pad."

Our Verdict:

We stayed here 3 nights, combined with 3 nights at Water's Edge Campground in Woody Point. This gave us ample time to explore, hike, and truly take in everything the Gros Morne area has to offer. For big rig travelers, this is your best bet for a comfortable base while exploring one of Canada's most spectacular national parks.

Recommended Stay: 3-4 nights provides perfect timing to experience Gros Morne's highlights without feeling rushed

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5 stars)
