There have been many studies which show that connecting with nature, fresh air, and exercise lead to healthier, happier, more balanced lives. When we do our travels, the call of nature is the single biggest factor in why Manny and I crave the destinations we choose. Spending quality time in quality nature is unmatched in the life satisfaction category for us.

Getting outside, being in nature can be just enjoying the beauty of the colors, the animal sounds, the unmanicured natural landscape which can be perfect in itself. For me, the benefits of being one and connecting with nature can be very similar to the benefits of meditation. Nature can generate many positive emotions.

Our RV lifestyle has taught us that nature's wellness benefits come in many forms:

• Morning Coffee Mindfulness: Starting the day watching sunrise from our campsite

• Moving Meditation: Whether it's a challenging hike or a gentle nature walk

• Natural Rhythms: Aligning our daily routines with sunrise and sunset

• Wildlife Connections: The joy of watching birds, deer, or marine life in their natural habitat

• Weather Wisdom: Embracing all conditions - from misty mornings to starlit nights

The science backs what we've experienced firsthand. Research shows that time in nature reduces stress hormones, lowers blood pressure, and improves mental clarity. But beyond the scientific benefits, there's something deeply personal about finding your own connection with the natural world.

For us, each destination offers a new opportunity to deepen this connection. Whether it's the bountiful mountains in Montana or rugged coastline of Maine, the serene lakes of Nova Scotia, or the majestic mountains of Gros Morne, nature continues to be our greatest teacher in living well.

A Perfect Moment in Nature:

I'll never forget our journey over the Beartooth Mountain Pass in Montana - a moment that perfectly captures what I mean by nature's transformative power. The scene before us set a new standard for natural beauty: pristine Alpine lakes nestled below, patches of snow still clinging to the peaks, while wildflowers painted the mountain paths in vibrant colors. As if nature was orchestrating a perfect moment, a herd of mountain goats chose that instant to amble across the meadow, then disappeared down an impossibly steep cliff – awe inspiring reminder of their incredible agility and adaptation to this rugged landscape. Standing there, taking in that magnificent vista, I felt something profound - a perfect alignment of peace, wonder, and contentment. In that moment, life was absolutely perfect.

It's experiences like these that remind us why we chose this lifestyle. Each new destination brings its own opportunity for these transformative moments in nature, whether it's a dramatic mountain vista or a quiet sunset by the lake.

How do you connect with nature during your travels? We'd love to hear your stories and favorite natural spaces.
