A Tale of Cats, Cars, and RV Life
We've officially launched our epic 101-day journey to Newfoundland! But as any seasoned RVer knows, the first day always comes with its own special brand of adventures. Let me share our "smooth-ish" departure story...

The Electric Car Dilemma
Picture this: Twelve hours before departure, we discover our electric car (which needs to go to storage and plug in) isn't quite as adaptable as we'd hoped. The RV's 50-to-30 amp adapter apparently doesn't meet our car's sophisticated standards. (Note to self: Test ALL equipment before departure day!) Solution? Two new adapters ordered and our son designated as Chief Car Transport Officer. Sometimes Plan B is just part of the adventure!

The Great Cat Round-Up of 2025
Our three feline travelers showed their distinct personalities during boarding:
- Twix and Thumper: The Easy Riders - Casually strolled into the RV like they were heading to a spa day
- Bandit: The Escape Artist - Treated us to an impromptu game of hide-and-seek, featuring:
* One bed (under)
* One couch (also under)
* One very patient husband
* One unfortunate shoe incident (Poor Manny – Bandit’s sorry)
On the Road at Last!
Within minutes of hitting the road, our cats settled into their travel personas:
- Twix: Queen of her carrier-top perch
- Thumper: Couch potato extraordinaire
- Bandit: Defying physics by wedging himself under the couch (because some habits die hard!)
Next Stop: Jekyll Island, Georgia (Kind of)
First destination locked in, and we're rolling! Stay tuned for updates from Georgia's historic coastal gem, where golf courses and beach walks await. Actually I lied, we are going to Blythe Island Camprground and visiting Jekyll Island from there. Jekyll Island has a campgound but on the far side of the island and difficult for big rigs, so for our purposes of a 2 night stay, Blythe Island Campground is perfect!
