Jekyll Island, Georgia

Easy to book Tee times on the Jekyll Island Golf Club website – I booked about 4 days in advance. Each course has a different rate, depending on walking or cart. The twilight rate was the best deal at $55 and included the cart fee.
Nestled within the scenic Jekyll Island State Park, the Jekyll Island Golf Club offers not one, but three unique 18-hole courses—each with its own charm. While we didn’t get to play all of them, our visit still delivered plenty of adventure (and a few lost golf balls).
The Crown Jewel: Great Dunes (Coming 2025!)
The historic Great Dunes Course, originally built in 1926, is undergoing a stunning transformation. Designed by Brian Ross (Ross Golf Design) and Jeffrey Stein (Stein Golf Design), this course promises a breathtaking journey through coastal dunes, oceanfront views, and a pristine maritime forest. Slated to open in Fall 2025, it’s already on our must-play list!
The Pines Course – A Tournament Favorite
Unfortunately, the recently renovated Pines Course was hosting the Georgia State High School Golf Tournament during our visit. Judging by its reputation (and the fact that it was chosen for the event), we’ll definitely be back to test it out.
Indian Mound Course – Wild & Challenging
With the Pines occupied, we teed off on the Indian Mound Course—a tight, tree-lined layout where wayward shots disappear fast. We wisely waited until 2:00 PM for the twilight rate drop ($55 vs. $85), though the mid-May heat and humidity were no joke. Pro tip: Pack extra water, sunscreen, and patience!
Wildlife:
Wildlife sightings kept things exciting—hawks, deer, and even alligators made appearances. The course itself? Narrow fairways, punishing OB areas, and plenty of lost balls (though we scavenged a few replacements—golf karma at work).
Dining:
Tribuzio’s Grille (Almost…) The club’s casual restaurant, Tribuzio’s Grille looked promising with a diverse menu (including healthy options), but the tournament crowd had it packed. But that gave us plenty of time to hop on our e-bikes to explore more of the island's trails, making for the perfect active day combining two of our favorite activities.
Final Verdict
A solid golf experience in a stunning island setting. We’d love to return for the Pines and the new Great Dunes Course—but even the Indian Mound delivered a fun (if sweaty) round. Worth a stop if you’re RVing through Georgia!
