Our trip was cruising along smoothly with two fantastic stops under our belts. First up: Georgia's Golden Isles, where we explored the serene beauty of Jekyll Island. We camped at Blythe Island State Park, zipped around on e-bikes, and teed off at the Jekyll Island Golf Club. From there, we rolled into South Carolina, settling at Santee State Park—more e-biking, a visit to the Santee National Wildlife Refuge, and another round of golf, this time at Santee National Golf Club.
Then came what I call a "filler stop"—one of those necessary days to regroup, tackle laundry, and squeeze in a little work. We landed in Keeling, Virginia, for an overnight stay at Paradise Lakes Campground, a cozy spot filled with seasonal travelers. Our next destination was supposed to be Watermelon Park Campground in Berryville, Virginia—a riverside site along the Shenandoah, complete with a waterfall hike, Skyline Drive vistas, and a visit to the historic Long Branch House. But late that afternoon, we got the call: Flooding had left the campground soggy and unfit for RVs. Disappointed? Absolutely. Surprised? Not really. On the road, flexibility is key.

(Fingers crossed it's better in person!)
To fill the gap, we adjusted again, booking just one night at our Plan B spot and adding an extra night at our next stop in New York. Sometimes, you just have to improvise and keep moving forward.
Meanwhile, Back in the RV...
The cats remain thoroughly unimpressed with the rainy weather, casting judgmental stares out the windows. Their tunnels are set up, but a little dampness has made them skeptical. (Typical feline behavior—they'll venture out once everything meets their exacting standards.)
